2017 Compass Boasts Style, Off-Road Capability
The 2017 Jeep Compass features an advanced fuel-efficient engine, off road capability and advanced technology that give drivers peace of mind on the road…and off.
Under the Hood
Jeep designers equipped the 2017 Compass with a 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. It features engine start/stop technology for increased fuel efficiency.
Three transmission choices are offered on 2017 models of the Compass. A nine-speed automatic transmission is available on four-wheel-drive models and is an exclusive in the class. Other transmission choices include a six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic.
An available four-wheel-drive system ensures that the Jeep Compass lives up to the legendary heritage of Jeep vehicles by giving it the power and traction abilities to conquer off road environments without detracting from its everyday drivability.
Comfort and Convenience
The 2017 Compass’ center stack houses the hub for the vehicle’s advanced technology. 5-, 7- and 8.4-inch color touchscreen display/control hubs are available and housed up front and center for ease of use. They control an infotainment system with advanced intuitive technology and voice command features that ensure maximum efficiency when using the hands-free voice calling, audio streaming and mobile app integration features.
Apple CarPlay and Android Auto ensure smartphone integration is quick, easy and makes full use of the smartphone’s capabilities.
The audio system includes AM/FM/CD playback as well as SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and upgraded features include navigation.
More than 70 active and passive safety and security features are offered on the 2017 Jeep Compass.
Built around a high-strength steel structure, the vehicle is rigid while still providing ample impact absorption capability. A full set of airbags complements standard three-point seat belts to ensure maximum protection for occupants in the event of a collision.
Antilock disc brakes with brake assist stop the vehicle quickly.
Technological safety features include adaptive cruise control with full stop, blind spot monitoring system, full-speed forward collision warning-plus, hill start assist and a rearview camera.
Parking assist features use ultrasonic sensors to detect nearby options and provide steering input while the driver controls the throttle to park the vehicle as safely and efficiently as possible.
